Contraindications
Contraindications means: A condition which fore bids use of a particular treatment.
A sign or symptom suggesting that a certain line of treatment (usually used for that disease) should be discontinued or avoided. This also goes for sickness and illnesses.
Here is an example. You have a high fever and feel that you want to get a massage to make you feel better? This is a contraindication. Having a high fever indicates infection, and massage can be taxing on a weakened body. It can also spread the infection and make it feel worse. There is also the possibility that the therapist could get sick, if the fever is caused by something contagious, like a cold/flu.
If you do feel you are still looking for a massage, you will need a signed consent form from your doctor before visiting a massage therapist.
