Watsu
Watsu is a hydrotherapy
treatment quickly gaining popularity all over the world. Watsu,
which combines the words water and shiatsu, is
literally shiatsu
performed on clients who float in warm water.
The practitioner
carefully holds the client and applies gentle stretching and
shiatsu-like massage techniques along the back, neck, shoulders, and
limbs. This therapy is useful for a number of reasons: The warm
water soothes muscles and promotes relaxation; the feeling of
weightlessness promotes free movement; and benefits include pain
relief, stress reduction and deep relaxation. Watsu also promotes
self-reflection, connection and trust.
